In the ancient days, there was a whole village to take care of the child. The Joint family system ensured that the child was taken care by the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and the neighbors. In addition, the peer hood engagement with cousins and neighboring kids helped in another kind of nourishment and learning for the child.
Now a days all of these seems to fall on the parent. To add to this, there are umpteen materials available in the Social media on good parenting that can be quiet overwhelming and confusing.
To have a community to share the joys and challenges, to be listened to and to learn and heal in the sharing is a rarity.
Parenting Commune is a non-judgmental space where one can come reflect, share and listen to ourselves and the others and engage in a sangha that can support the parenting/grand parenting / care giving towards a parent journey.
.
We meet for 6 sessions of 90 minutes each over a period of 3 months.
An evocative material - a story/article/video/music/art will be shared a few days before the session. The participant is required to go through the material and reflect before coming for the session. Time taken for this would be approximately 30 minutes.
The session will begin with a short centering practice. We practice LIVO - Listening in Voicing Out where sharing and reflecting happens in the group based on the evocations from the material shared and also what one listens to and gets evoked from the other's sharing. The session will end with a small closing practice. All sessions will be anchored by Ritambhara sangha facilitators.
